POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships while driving
revenue growth through technical HVAC solutions. This role combines sales, engineering knowledge, and
account management to deliver an exceptional customer experience and position McQueeny Group as a
trusted partner.
Sales Engineers operate with a high level of ownership, effectively running their own business while
leveraging internal resources and technical expertise to support customer success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
• Deliver a high level of customer service and responsiveness
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, and internal teams
• Identify and resolve challenges to ensure successful project outcomes
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• Manage and grow an assigned account base through relationship development and consistent
engagement
• Identify opportunities and develop strategies to drive equipment and solution sales
• Educate customers on products, applications, and system design approaches
• Represent McQueeny Group with professionalism and integrity in all interactions
SALES EXECUTION
• Develop and deliver technical solutions aligned with customer needs
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer experience
• Participate in meetings, presentations, and project discussions to support sales efforts
• Drive opportunities through the full sales cycle from identification to close
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
• Continuously develop knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, and applications
• Participate in ongoing sales and technical training programs
• Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and manufacturer offerings
COLLABORATION & PROCESS ALIGNMENT
• Work closely with inside support teams to deliver proposals and project execution
• Learn and operate within McQueeny Group processes and procedures
• Support and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrates and exemplifies McQueeny Group Core Values
• Bachelor’s degree required (technical/engineering degree preferred)
• HVAC industry knowledge or technical aptitude preferred
• Sales experience in HVAC or related industry preferred
• Strong ability to build relationships and manage customer accounts
• Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and allocate resources
• Self-motivated with a strong ownership mentality
• Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Primarily based in the Kansas City market with regular client engagement
• Ability to travel locally to support customer meetings and project needs
• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance

• Competitive base salary (typically 1-2 years) with transition to performance-based commission
structure
