Senior Product Manager - Accounting Domain
Indexed description
Mission:
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be singularly accountable for your product domain's strategy, execution, and success metrics. In this role, you will own JobNimbus’ accounting domain—accounting integrations, job costing, commissions, invoicing, credit memos, and tax workflows. Your mission is to ensure contractors have complete financial clarity and trust in their numbers, while making JobNimbus the financial backbone of their business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Directly manage and lead your cross-functional Product Dev Team (Engineers and Designer), taking full ownership of team performance, accountability, and development.
- Aggressively leverage AI tools to aggregate user pain points, analyze competitive landscapes, and ruthlessly prioritize the most impactful work aligned to the product vision and strategic pillars.
- Drive the creation of all product documentation (e.g., Opportunity Briefs, PRDs) using AI tools, ensuring requirements are detailed enough for AI agents (like Claude Code and Cursor) to successfully generate build plans, tickets, and code.
- Partner with your team's Technical Lead to run feasibility, scope solutions, and ensure alignment with the Architecture Center of Excellence. Use AI tools to break down work into bite-sized tasks and automatically generate acceptance criteria.
- Drive the team to ship value continuously. Be accountable for service health, quality, and the high adoption of AI tooling in development to generate code, tests, and automate the QA process.
- Own and manage the team's accountability dashboard, tracking lagging metrics (Adoption, Revenue, Retention) and team throughput to ensure focus on business value.
- Own the strategy and execution for our accounting and financial workflows, including QuickBooks integration (and future NetSuite and Sage integrations), ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
- Define and evolve Job Costing capabilities so contractors can clearly understand job-level profitability, cost breakdowns, margin performance across job types, and real-time financial health.
- Lead the development of commissions tracking and reporting systems that align sales performance with financial outcomes.
- Drive improvements in invoicing, credit memos, tax handling, and financial reporting to ensure contractors can confidently manage cash flow and compliance.
- Partner closely with Finance, CX, and JobNimbus customers to ensure our accounting integrations meet real-world accounting and GL requirements.
- Establish data integrity, reconciliation, and error-handling standards that earn customer trust and reduce financial risk.
- Define and monitor financial domain health metrics (sync accuracy, reconciliation issues, invoice adoption, job margin visibility, etc.) and aggressively drive improvements.
- 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably with B2B SaaS products.
- A proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a desire to take on people management responsibilities.
- Experience and strong interest in leveraging Generative AI and automation tools throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on translating data (customer feedback, usage, market trends) into product strategy and business outcomes.
- Deep understanding of modern product principles and a passion for continuous delivery and customer obsession.
- Ability to embrace the "vigorous debate and fully commit" principle, challenging the team while driving toward a unified goal.
- Experience with accounting systems, General Ledger (GL) concepts, or financial reporting—either as a Product Manager owning accounting software or through direct experience in accounting/finance roles.
- Deep understanding of accounting fundamentals such as revenue recognition, job costing, chart of accounts, tax handling, credit memos, and financial reconciliation.
- Experience building or managing integrations with systems like QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or other ERP/accounting platforms.
- Proven ability to design financial workflows that balance flexibility, compliance, and ease of use.
- Comfort operating in high-trust domains where data accuracy and system reliability are non-negotiable.
- Extreme Ownership. You own the outcomes, drive initiatives, and solve problems proactively. If you need direction and someone to hold your hand, this job is not for you.
- Customer Obsessed. Everything we build should leave our customers saying, "Aw dip. This product is off the charts cool. Whoever wrote that code deserves a raise!"
- Proactive Learning. You stay ahead of the curve, continuously learning and implementing cutting-edge technologies.
- Team Commitment. You build, mentor, and lead a high-performance engineering team that delivers results together.
- Self Awareness. You know your strengths, weaknesses, and how to surround yourself with the right talent to succeed.
