What You Can Expect
The “Situation Awareness and Cyber Security” group is working on innovative security concepts, including the development and research of methods for improving and evaluating the cyber-physical security properties of maritime critical infrastructures. Quantum computers are in this context of great interest.
We are looking for a talented Quantum Computing Researcher for the PhD Opportunity in the research area Quantum Complexity Theory and Quantum Cryptanalysis.
Your Responsibilities
- You will conduct in-depth research into quantum algorithms, complexity theory and the use of quantum computers for cryptanalysis.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with other groups (both internal and external)
- Document and share your findings through reports, publications and presentations in specialist journals and at national and international conferences.
- Completed university degree (university diploma or master's degree) in an information processing field (e.g. computer science or IT security), natural sciences (e.g. physics, mathematics) or other courses of study relevant to the position
- Knowledge of theoretical computer science, IT security and cryptography and an interest in the subject area
- Knowledge of common programming paradigms and languages, as well as software development methods
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
