Primary Functions:

This position leads and supports a wide range of Finance & Accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial and operational reporting, and create and track employee and sales incentive plans, including calculating payouts and monitoring performance metrics. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial results and expense trends, preparing variance reports, forecasting logistics industry activity for financial modeling, identifying process improvements, and supporting complex business analyses.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Partner directly with the entire Commercial team to develop, maintain, and analyze annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses and act as the direct liaison to Berkshire Parent
  • Analyze financial performance, revenue trends, operating expenses, and key business metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Create and maintain financial models to support business planning, pricing, profitability analysis, and operational initiatives.
  • Partner with Executive team and business leaders to develop financial projections and help evaluate business opportunities and risks.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities through reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor headcount, labor costs, and operational expenses to ensure alignment with budget objectives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, dashboards, town halls, Board Reporting packages for meetings.
  • Assist with sales incentive compensation analysis and company performance calculations, as applicable.
  • Analyze market conditions and industry trends, including logistics and transportation trends, to support forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within reporting systems and business models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other departments to support financial objectives.


Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Broad knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and business administration. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred, and 6+ years of relevant experience. Must be very proficient in Excel and able to manipulate, organize, move and present large amounts of data in/out of software platforms. Familiarity with Great Plains, Vena, Mercury Gate or Wrike is a plus.
