In this role, you will partner closely with the line of business leader to shape and drive product and portfolio strategies. You will play a key role in guiding decision-making, using data and industry experience to influence direction, while ensuring successful execution and performance of key initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Provide input and recommendations related to the line of business, including underwriting guidelines, appetite, rating approach, and product updates
- Work with key business groups—including Distribution, Actuarial, Product Development, Data and Analytics, and Technology—to develop and implement system and process solutions that support business initiatives
- Define ways to measure performance for business strategies and review results after implementation
- Conduct portfolio analysis with guidance from the line of business leader, focusing on key performance indicators
- Work with training and marketing teams to create communication and training materials for new or updated products
- Research competitor activity and market information
- Maintain awareness of state regulations and assist with responses to Department of Insurance inquiries
- Document and maintain version control for underwriting guidelines, product updates, and changes
- Evaluate and support distribution approaches across multiple channels, including Direct to Consumer and Retail Agencies
- Bachelor's degree preferred with concentration in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences.
- 10+ years of Product Management experience in the insurance industry; production underwriting experience preferred but not required.
- Exhibit knowledge of industry trends, state regulations, and compliance processes.
- Promote and exemplify data driven analysis and decision-making.
- Promote and exemplify a culture of collaboration, including stakeholders at various levels and in various departments.
- Exhibit an ability to work independently and creatively problem-solve.
- Proficient with MS Office with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
- SQL skills preferred but not required.
