We are currently seeking a Settlement Officer (9-month fixed-term contract) on behalf of a prestigious private bank in Geneva.
About the Role
- Handle the settlement of equities, bonds, structured products, and investment funds.
- Monitor pending transactions and ensure accurate and timely settlement across all asset classes.
- Verify and control positions in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with traders, custodians, brokers, and counterparties to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and deadlines while maintaining a high level of operational accuracy.
- Operational Controls & Compliance
- Perform reconciliation and exception handling to ensure full settlement accuracy.
- Apply regulatory and internal control requirements throughout the settlement process.
- Escalate any incident, failed trade, or irregularity to management and compliance when necessary.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of settlement workflows and system efficiency.
- Internal Collaboration
- Act as a key contact for Front Office, Treasury, Risk, and Legal teams.
- Collaborate closely with other operational units to ensure smooth end-to-end transaction processing.
- Provide back-up support to colleagues within the Settlements and Corporate Actions teams when required.
Your Profile
- CFC bancaire or equivalent diploma in banking/finance.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a settlements or securities operations role within a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, bonds, structured products, investment funds).
- Knowledge of market participants (custodians, brokers, clearing houses).
- Proficient with SWIFT messaging; knowledge of Omgeo and Euclid is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to manage priorities under pressure.
- Fluent in French (native) and English (professional level).
- Swiss residency required.
