Costco Wholesale is seeking an experienced Privacy Compliance Analyst with at least 2+ years of experience to join the Legal department at its corporate headquarters in Issaquah, WA. Position Summary
The role of this Data Privacy & Governance Privacy team member is to support Costco compliance with data privacy policies, processes, and legal and business requirements.
This Privacy Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that Costco’s systems, applications and business processes are compliant with emerging global privacy regulations and Costco’s privacy policies and statements. The Privacy Compliance Analyst will work independently and in teams to conduct analysis of US and international privacy requirements, evaluate and document privacy risks, processes, tasks, controls, and remediations; and track and drive complex cross-team and cross-enterprise compliance projects.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Applies established Privacy scoping criteria, processes and procedures.
- Delivers on key privacy initiatives to implement and enhance compliance with emerging privacy legislation and requirements.
- Identifies and analyzes privacy risks using legal requirements, Costco policies and practices, and the Fair Information Privacy Principles.
- Obtains and analyzes artifacts and other evidence of compliance to support technical or complex Privacy control requirements.
- Conducts technical and policy reviews of programs and data initiatives to identify privacy risks, assist in developing controls and remediation strategies, and designing and executing privacy compliance control testing and assurance strategies.
- Drives cross-team and cross-enterprise projects and processes to ensure compliance with law and established Costco privacy policy and practices around personal data.
- Scopes, interprets, and prioritizes privacy control requirements and executes testing for completeness and accuracy.
- Manages and communicates key privacy compliance milestones for critical systems and complex processes.
- Consults on complex privacy considerations and requirements for architecture, systems design, application design, and data lifecycle management.
- Work with International stakeholders to confirm enterprise privacy alignment.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams and develops strong liaison relationships.
- Stays current with new and evolving data privacy and governance topics and technologies via formal training and self-directed education.
- Helps grow the team's talent benchmark through coaching, training and mentoring and sharing privacy knowledge and experience.
- Other tasks as requested.
- Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:
- At least 2+ years of experience in IT project management or data systems management
- Demonstrated prior experience in analyzing and resolving complex problems in an IT, ecommerce or compliance organization
- Understanding of data privacy controls and processes, such as Privacy Impact Assessments, Consent Management Platforms, and data subject rights.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshooting skills for system integration including ServiceNow, websites, databases, APIs,etc.
- Problem solving experience and ability to work with database administrators and application teams.
- Interact with technology and business teams to stay involved and abreast of current and emerging technologies and business needs
Recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated interest in data privacy and data governance, including AI
- Experience in developing and testing controls for data systems
- Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.
Other Conditions

Pay Range:
Analyst 2: $85,000 - $120,000
Analyst 3: $110,000 - $150,000
Analyst 4: $140,000 - $185,000
