How you make a difference and get to accomplish as part of our team:
- Build and install yacht interiors and exterior components including cabinetry, paneling, doors, boxes, rails, trim, and custom joinery.
- Accurately measure, lay out, and transfer dimensions to marine plywood and related materials using hand and layout tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to execute work with precision and consistency.
- Perform clean, accurate cuts using table saws, chop saws, and other professional woodworking tools.
- Apply time-honored marine joinery techniques such as scarf, lap, finger, sill splice, and dovetail joints.
- Use epoxies, vinylester resins, and marine-grade adhesives to bond components for strength and longevity.
- Work confidently with yachting terminology and shop practices common to traditional and modern yacht construction.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace that reflects Hinckley’s culture of craftsmanship and pride.
- Experience in yacht carpentry, fine woodworking, or marine construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of marine materials, joinery methods, and adhesives.
- Ability to read plans and perform accurate measurements, including fractions.
- Familiarity with safe operation of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Attention to detail, craftsmanship mindset, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled team environment.
