SNI Financial is recruiting a Tax Accountant for a nationwide healthcare leader to support a broad range of tax activities across a large, multi‑state operation. The organization serves patients annually across multiple locations in more than 30 states.
The Tax Accountant functions as a tax generalist, with primary responsibility for indirect tax compliance, while also supporting income tax and other regulatory requirements. This role ensures accurate, timely filings across numerous jurisdictions and contributes to the organization’s commitment to operational and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales and use tax compliance across multiple states, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
- Oversee business license registrations, renewals, and jurisdictional updates for a large network of operating locations
- Prepare and file property tax renditions, ensuring accurate reporting of assets across diverse sites
- Support income tax compliance, including data gathering, workpapers, and coordination with external advisors
- Maintain compliance calendars and ensure all federal, state, and local tax deadlines are met
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting indirect and multi‑state tax obligations
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits, inquiries, and internal reviews
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to gather data and resolve tax‑related issues
- Assist with process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the tax function
Qualifications & Experience
- 1+ years of experience in business tax compliance, with strong emphasis on indirect tax (sales/use, business licenses, property tax)
- Experience supporting multi‑state or multi‑entity organizations; healthcare industry experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage high‑volume, multi‑area tax obligations in fast‑paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
