Korn Ferry has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Controller on behalf of a globally backed mobility and transportation platform undergoing significant transformation and growth across the U.S.

Operating within a complex, multi-location environment and supported by a major international parent organization, the company is investing heavily in people, processes, systems, and infrastructure as it scales toward its next phase of growth. Leadership is seeking a high-impact accounting leader who can help modernize the finance organization and build a best-in-class controllership function capable of supporting a significantly larger enterprise over time.

The Controller will serve as the senior-most accounting leader in the U.S. organization, reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with executive leadership across finance and operations. This role carries broad scope and visibility, with responsibility for accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, technical accounting, and organizational transformation initiatives.

Our client is seeking a hands-on, transformational leader who can build structure, strengthen the control environment, professionalize processes, and help scale the accounting organization for future growth. The role is viewed internally as having a natural runway toward future CAO-level responsibility.

Key Areas of Impact:

  • Lead all core accounting operations, including close, consolidations, financial reporting, and technical accounting matters under both GAAP and IFRS
  • Strengthen and mature the organization’s internal controls and balance sheet integrity
  • Partner closely with operations and FP&A leaders to improve visibility, accountability, and business performance
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, automation, RPA, and AI-enabled efficiencies
  • Build scalable accounting infrastructure capable of supporting rapid organizational growth
  • Lead organizational design, talent upgrades, and team development across the accounting function
  • Serve as a key finance partner to executive leadership and international stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • CPA required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 12–15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Experience operating within large-scale, multi-entity, multi-location, or operationally complex organizations
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with GAAP and IFRS exposure required
  • Background within mobility, transportation, fleet-intensive, travel, hospitality, logistics, or other asset-heavy industries preferred
  • Proven success leading accounting transformation, controls enhancement, process improvement, and organizational buildout initiatives
  • Executive presence with the ability to operate cross-functionally within a dynamic, evolving environment

Salary Range:
