Pay for this position is $18.77/hour. This is an Hourly position.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Outpatient Services Clerk supports hospital departments that provide outpatient and diagnostic services. Receives patients into the department, communicating effectively with each patient to verify identity and confirm arrival in the department in the EMR. Courteously handles phone inquiries from providers, patients and others in the highest level appropriate to the position. Schedules and confirms patient appointments from work queues and direct phone referrals, securing and transcribing paper orders into the EMR.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School/GED
• Experience: 1 year clerical or secretarial experience in health care setting.
• Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and website navigation Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills.

• Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent
