Fuel Transport US Inc. (“Fuel Transport”) is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. The Senior Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and long-term success of an assigned portfolio of strategic customer accounts. This role demands strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and a proactive, results-driven mindset to increase volume, protect margin integrity, and maximize gross profit across the portfolio. The Senior Account Manager serves as a trusted partner to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery while identifying and executing opportunities for sustainable, profitable growth.

Job Summary:

  • Own and manage a defined customer portfolio with full accountability for volume retention and expansion, gross profit, and margin performance.
  • Drive wallet-share growth across spot, contractual, and new service offerings.
  • Lead award onboarding and oversee post-award performance management.
  • Ensure awarded freight is operationally executable and aligned with margin expectations.
  • Act as the margin steward for the assigned portfolio.
  • Partner with Pricing and Operations teams to proactively identify and address margin erosion.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customers and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Translate customer objectives into clear, actionable execution plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, Pricing, and Operations to ensure alignment and flawless execution.
  • Other tasks as required by the business.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of account management experience in logistics or truckload brokerage.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow customer portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of truckload pricing and market dynamics.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office, with basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Pricing, and Operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
