Summer 2026 MBA Interns: AI-Enabled PE Investing

AEP is supporting a PE client hiring summer 2026 MBA interns who want to sit at the intersection of investing and AI.

The Opportunity

• Our client is hiring summer MBA interns to work directly with the deal team on live investments while helping the firm expand its use of AI across the investment process.
• The role blends traditional PE intern work (sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, portfolio monitoring) with building and refining AI-enabled workflows to maximize efficiency.
• Interns will work closely with senior investment professionals and the firm's technology leadership, with direct exposure to deal execution, portfolio company engagement, and firm strategy.

Responsibilities

• Support live deal evaluation: sourcing, commercial and financial diligence, LBO modeling, and IC memo preparation
• Build, test, and improve AI-enabled tools and workflows that make the investment process more efficient
• Partner with portfolio company management on operational and analytical initiatives where AI can drive efficiency
• Document workflows and share learnings with the broader investment team

Qualifications & Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a top MBA program
• Strong financial modeling skills (LBO, DCF, three-statement)
• Prior experience in PE, investment banking, consulting, or a related analytical role
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on experience applying AI to finance, research, or investment workflows
• Familiarity with Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini APIs and prompt design
• Python and other technical skills that support AI tool development
• Demonstrated curiosity about where AI does and doesn't add value in investing
