This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of Verinext's clients. The position requires five days/week onsite. Once every 5-6 weeks will need to be on call on a Sat for a half day
Requirements
- Identify data sources, design database schemas, map files to these schemas, integrate data using ETL processes, monitor daily data loads, document data flows, and ensure database security
- Execute ad hoc queries and stored procedures for developers, and develop standardized reports for business users
- Create and update databases, products, and reports based on client requirements and functional specifications
- Ensure the integrity and availability of databases, troubleshoot database issues, and implement data backup and recovery solutions
- Design, develop, and manage relational databases to optimize performance and maintain data security
- Utilize advanced SQL expertise to generate and write reports supporting analytics
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience: 3-5 years of similar or related experience
- Education: Appropriate industry experience or a (B.S. or M.S.) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- SQL Expertise: Proficient in using SQL for querying and managing databases effectively
- Database Design: Knowledgeable in designing database schemas, including normalization and indexing techniques
- Database Management Systems (DBMS): Hands-on experience with platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Data Modeling: Skilled in developing data models that align with and support business processes
- Performance Optimization: Competent in enhancing database performance and resolving related issues
- Reporting: Utilize SQL proficiency and reporting tools like CRMBI to create, write, and optimize reports that address business requirements
- Backup and Recovery: Well-versed in data backup procedures, recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning
- ETL Processes: Experienced in managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations for seamless data integration
- Security: Familiar with database security measures to ensure the protection of data integrity and privacy
- Project Management: A fundamental knowledge of project management principles is required
- Adaptability: Openness to learning new technologies and adjusting to evolving requirements is essential
- Documentation: Capability to clearly document database structures, processes, and procedures
- Interpersonal Skills: High levels of trust and diplomacy are necessary, along with standard courtesy and tact. The role involves motivating or influencing others, which demands both diplomacy and trust
