Director, Investments & Capital Markets
Indexed description
Our client is a boutique real estate private equity firm with a mixed-asset portfolio specializing in multifamily, ground-up construction, and value-add investments. Headquartered in Los Angeles with a growing presence in New York, the firm partners with institutional investors, family offices, and capital allocators to identify, underwrite, and execute compelling real estate opportunities across high-conviction U.S. markets.
What You’ll Do
This is a high-impact, full-lifecycle role serving as the right hand to the CEO across acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management. The Director will play a central part in sourcing and closing new investments, leading fundraising and investor engagement, and overseeing the performance of the firm’s existing portfolio.
The role requires a candidate who can move fluidly between the boardroom, the deal table, and the asset — comfortable building investor narratives one day, pressure-testing a pro forma the next, and walking a property with operating partners the day after.
This person will travel alongside the CEO on roadshows, sit in on LP meetings, walk deals from origination through closing, and own meaningful workstreams across the entire investment platform.
Responsibilities
Capital Markets & Investor Relations
• Partner directly with the CEO on fundraising strategy, LP cultivation, and capital formation across institutional investors, family offices, HNW networks, and lending relationships
Acquisitions & Investment Execution
• Source new acquisition opportunities through broker networks, owner relationships, and proprietary channels across multifamily, ground-up, and value-add
• Walk deals end-to-end alongside the CEO — touring assets, evaluating submarkets, and pressure-testing investment theses on the ground
Asset Management & Portfolio Oversight
• Oversee performance of portfolio assets post-close — tracking budget vs. actuals, leasing velocity, construction milestones, and key operating metrics
• Partner with operating partners, property managers, and general contractors to execute business plans and drive value creation
CEO Office & Strategic Initiatives
• Operate as a trusted right hand to the CEO — anticipating needs, owning follow-through, and quarterbacking cross-functional initiatives
What You’ll Need
• 4–7 years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, capital markets, or institutional real estate (Senior Associate / VP track); exposure across acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management strongly preferred
• Demonstrated fluency in real estate financial modeling — multifamily, ground-up development, and value-add underwriting in Excel
• Track record working directly with senior leadership and institutional investors; polished presence in front of LPs, brokers, and counter-parties
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to translate complex deal mechanics into compelling investor narratives
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms; comfort with deal data rooms and investor reporting tools
• Highly organized, intellectually curious, and willing to travel frequently for investor meetings and asset tours
• Entrepreneurial mindset — thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment where the role spans both strategic and execution-level work
• Bachelor’s degree required; CFA, CAIA, or MBA viewed favorably but not required
What Our Client Offers
• Direct, daily exposure to the CEO and a clear path to senior leadership within the platform
• Carried interest participation in deals the candidate sources, underwrites, and helps close
• Generous time off: vacation, sick, holidays, and an additional week off at the end of the year
• Full coverage of employees’ base medical, dental, and vision premiums
• 401(k) retirement savings, group life, and AD&D
• Career development and growth opportunities across a fast-scaling investment platform
