Primary Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams to design and deliver secure, scalable healthcare technology solutions leveraging cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and AI/ML capabilities
- Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with UHG/Optum business goals, focusing on improving patient outcomes, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee architecture and modernization of platforms, including cloud-native, data, and AI-driven solutions for healthcare analytics and operations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and enterprise security standards across all engineering initiatives
- Drive adoption of AI/ML, automation, and data engineering practices to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with product, clinical, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative, value-driven healthcare solutions
- Build and mentor high-performing, diverse teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
- Establish governance, KPIs, and engineering excellence practices to ensure reliable, high-quality delivery at scale
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles, preferably in healthcare or regulated industries
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including cloud-native architecture and modernization
- Proven experience in implementing AI/ML solutions, Knowledge of card based payements, or advanced analytics in enterprise environments
- Experience managing onshore-offshore teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders (business, clinical, product)
- Deep understanding of healthcare data, compliance (HIPAA), and security standards Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, complex technology programs in an enterprise setting
- Proven solid leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills with a focus on innovation and measurable outcomes
