Head of Asset Management & Acquisitions
The Head of Asset Management & Acquisitions will oversee the performance and strategic execution of a multifamily real estate portfolio throughout New York City while also supporting acquisition and investment activity. This role is primarily focused on asset management, including operational performance, capital planning, value creation initiatives, lender and investor reporting, and oversight of third-party property management partners, with additional responsibility for sourcing, underwriting, and executing acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead asset management strategy and execution across a multifamily portfolio
- Drive NOI growth, operational efficiencies, leasing performance, and portfolio optimization initiatives
- Oversee annual budgets, business plans, capital improvement programs, and financial performance reporting
- Manage relationships with property management firms, lenders, equity partners, and external consultants
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend refinancing, disposition, or recapitalization strategies
- Support acquisition efforts including sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, market analysis, and execution
- Evaluate investment opportunities and present recommendations to executive leadership
- Collaborate with accounting, construction, and operations teams to execute business plans and maximize asset value
- Prepare and present portfolio and investment reporting to ownership and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of multifamily real estate experience with significant asset management responsibility
- Strong understanding of NYC multifamily operations, leasing, capital projects, and investment strategy
- Experience overseeing third-party property management firms and institutional-quality reporting
- Proven financial modeling and underwriting capabilities
- Experience managing refinancing, dispositions, and major repositioning initiatives preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
