Associate - Investment Banking (Zurich based)

Jefferies is seeking a high‑calibre Investment Banking Associate to join its Zurich-based Investment Banking team. The role offers exposure to a broad range of M&A, capital markets, and strategic advisory transactions, working closely with senior bankers on executio n and client engagement across Switzerland and the wider EMEA region.
This position is well suited to candidates who combine strong technical expertise with a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset and who are keen to take on early responsibility in lean deal teams.
Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will play a critical role in the execution of live transactions and in supporting business development initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting end‑to‑end execution of M&A, equity, and debt advisory mandates
- Financial analysis including valuation, financial modelling, and scenario analysis
- Preparation of pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, and client materials
- Coordinating due diligence processes and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting in transaction structuring and reviewing transaction documentation
- Monitoring market developments and contributing to sector and client coverage initiatives
- Acting as a mentor to Analysts, reviewing work output and providing guidance
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or strategy consulting
- Strong grounding in financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and transaction execution
- Experience working on Swiss and/or EMEA transactions is desirable
- Excellent academic background with a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or CFA a plus)
- Fluency in English is required; German (and/or French or Italian) is highly advantageous
