Commercial Director – Apparel Sourcing

Location: Vancouver (Global sourcing travel required)

PFD Enorsia Canada Corporation is a Vancouver-based apparel sourcing and buying house representing a vertically integrated global manufacturing platform.

Through our network across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, and Central Asia, we provide end-to-end apparel solutions - from development and sourcing to production and delivery - for North American brands and retailers.

Our model combines:

  • Vertically integrated manufacturing
  • Multi-country sourcing flexibility
  • Real-time execution oversight
  • Commercial accountability from concept to shipment

We are building a high-performance, founder-led organization in Vancouver with global reach.

This is an early-stage team with strong growth ambitions.

The initial leadership hires will define the operating model and build the team from the ground up.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Commercial Director to build and lead the North American business.

This role has full ownership of revenue generation, buyer relationships, and commercial strategy. It is a builder role, not a support function.

The successful candidate will:

  • Generate and close business
  • Build key accounts from zero to scale
  • Define pricing and commercial strategy
  • Work directly with sourcing and operations to deliver orders

This role is expected to evolve into a senior leadership position (COO or equivalent) as the business scales.

What You Will Own

1. Revenue & Business Development (Primary Accountability)

  • Build a pipeline of North American buyers (brands, retailers, importers)
  • Convert opportunities into confirmed purchase orders
  • Develop repeat programs and long-term contracts
  • Personally drive revenue growth in the first 12–24 months

2. Key Account Ownership

  • Act as the single commercial owner of all customer relationships
  • Manage accounts end-to-end:
  • Development
  • Pricing
  • Order placement
  • Delivery follow-up
  • Handle all commercial negotiations and escalations

3. Commercial Strategy & Pricing

  • Define pricing frameworks and margin targets
  • Negotiate FOB pricing, payment terms, and order structures
  • Balance competitiveness with margin protection
  • Establish commercial discipline across all accounts

4. Cross-Functional Execution Leadership

  • Work closely with sourcing and operations to:
  • Align buyer expectations with factory capabilities
  • Ensure orders are executable and profitable
  • Stay accountable through shipment - not just order placement

5. Market Positioning & Growth

  • Define how the company is positioned in North America
  • Identify target segments (price points, categories, customers)
  • Build a clear go-to-market strategy

6. Team Building (Critical)

  • Build the commercial function from the ground up
  • Hire and mentor future team members
  • Establish scalable processes for:
  • Sales
  • Account management
  • Forecasting

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • 2–4 active buyer accounts onboarded
  • Consistent monthly order flow established
  • At least one repeat customer program secured
  • Clear commercial pipeline and forecasting structure
  • Defined commercial processes for scaling the team

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 12–20+ years in apparel sourcing, buying house, or manufacturing
  • Experience working with North American buyers
  • Background in organizations similar to:
  • Buying houses
  • Global sourcing platforms
  • Apparel manufacturers with export focus

Core Capabilities

  • Proven ability to win new business over 5 Million USD in annual revenue (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of apparel costing and margins
  • Tech savvy with CRM tools and Office 365
  • Experience managing accounts end-to-end
  • Comfortable working across multiple sourcing countries
  • Comfortable with establishing SOPs and defining scalable processes

What We Are Specifically Looking For

  • Someone who has:
  • Opened accounts, not just managed them
  • Negotiated directly with buyers and factories
  • Taken responsibility for revenue and outcomes
  • Someone who is:
  • Hands-on and execution-focused
  • Comfortable in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
  • Willing to build systems, not just operate within them

What Will Not Work

  • Pure sales profiles without sourcing knowledge from Asia
  • Pure merchandising profiles without commercial ownership
  • Candidates who require large teams or structure to operate
  • Candidates who are not confident on their ability to learn new software tools for their role

Compensation

  • Base Salary: C$130,000 – C$170,000
  • Variable: 20% – 40% performance-based
  • Additional: Profit share tied to net margin

Compensation is structured to reward revenue generation and business growth.

Why This Role

  • Direct impact on building a global sourcing platform in North America
  • High ownership and decision-making authority
  • Clear path to senior leadership (COO-level)
  • Opportunity to build a business, not just manage a function

Important Note

This is a foundational hire. The team is currently small, and this role requires someone who is comfortable operating across multiple functions while building the structure for future scale.
