Senior Engineering Consultant

Fichtner Consulting Engineers Ltd is a well-established technical consultancy and a part of the global Fichtner Group providing intellectual and engineering services to financial institutions, developers, and owner-operators. We employ over 180 professionals and operate from offices in Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, and Manchester.

We work on a wide range of energy generation technologies. Candidates who have excelled in the development and delivery of thermal or renewable power projects in Ireland will be of interest to us. This consultancy role is permanent in nature and will be based out of our Dublin office, working across Ireland and occasionally in England or Scotland, so candidates must have the ability to work in the UK as well as the Republic of Ireland.

We are looking for:

• a good postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• ideally a Engineer's Ireland full member or similar.
• expert working knowledge of waste or gas fired power plants with an interest in renewable technologies for example; carbon capture and storage, hydrogen production and storage, or liquid air energy storage.
• experience with power plant concept development, layout design, and project consenting.
• technical specification development and negotiation with OEMS and EPC contractors.
• experience with managing project design reviews and site surveillance roles during construction.
• some experience with Irish Construction Regulations.
• strong project management and commercial knowledge, having drafted, negotiated, and administered contracts for power/process plant construction.
• prior construction phase experience of new power assets/plants.
• experience with vendor and acquisition due diligence.
• good working knowledge of power industry design codes, including BS, ASME and EN.
