Linux System Administrator
We are looking for a hands-on Linux System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience with Linux administration, automation through shell scripting, and working knowledge of cloud platforms and databases. This role requires someone who is proactive, highly organized, and capable of planning infrastructure tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and related infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure reliable operations.
- Perform regular system updates, patching, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Administer and support PostgreSQL databases, including basic performance monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting.
- Deploy, maintain, and optimize infrastructure in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
- Troubleshoot server, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to support deployments and improve system reliability.
- Plan infrastructure upgrades, maintenance activities, and capacity needs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Debian, etc.).
- Good knowledge of shell scripting (Bash or similar) for automation and task management.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Understanding of networking concepts, security practices, and system monitoring tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
