Essential Functions
Analyze data using existing software tools for multi-omics analysis with guidance from senior lab members and lab head (40%)
Evaluate and assist in optimizing new and emerging software developed by the Griffin lab group with guidance from senior lab members, software developers and lab head (40%)
Generate results using optimized software for inclusion in scientific publications describing software and findings from collaborative research projects (10%)
Generate figures and tables to be included in publications and presentations describing ongoing work in the Griffin lab group (10%)
This is a 75% position until further notice.

Required Qualifications
BA/BS biochemistry or related fields, or a combination of education and experience in biochemistry or related fields to equal four years. Basic understanding of mass spectrometry-based proteomics and peptidomes technologies and data types; familiarity with existing tools for analysis of data produced by these technologies; experience with basic software for analysis of results and development of presentations and figures (e.g. MS Office)
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Galaxy bioinformatics platform for running integrated workflows, generating results and basic testing of new software tools

About the Department
The department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics is committed to understanding the molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases and cancer; developing novel strategies in biocatalysis and biotechnology; and advancing knowledge through structural biology and molecular biophysics. We organize ourselves into research divisions with emphases on Chemical and Structural Biology, Metabolic and Systems Biology, Molecular Biology and Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology. We are housed in new buildings with state-of-the-art research and support facilities.
Pay And Benefits
Pay Range: $23.30 - $24.00/hour ; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
