Are you a senior-level expert ready to untangle a complex microservices ecosystem and lead a critical digital transformation?


We are partnering with a leading German-headquartered retail innovator as they modernise their proprietary, cloud-native customer relationship management platform. This isn't just an "off-the-shelf" CRM; it is the heartbeat of the company’s customer interactions, powering high-level insights and driving turnover growth in a major European marketplace.


We are looking for a Senior Developer who possesses a rare blend of deep Java expertise and a "DevOps mindset" to standardise, clean, and evolve a 90-microservice landscape. This is a high-impact role in which you will serve as a technical mentor and strategic problem-solver.


Your Mission & Impact:

As a Senior Developer you will be the driving force behind bringing a complex system up to enterprise-grade standards. You will transition the platform away from legacy code and into a scalable, manageable future.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Redesigning and cleaning up the infrastructure and microservices to ensure they are robust, manageable, and aligned with internal architectural standards.
  • Leading the migration away from Scala legacy code toward a clean, high-performance Java/Spring Environment.
  • Refining the IaC landscape (Terraform/Ansible) and improving the reliability of the Kubernetes (GKE) and Elastic Cloud environments.
  • Moving beyond "maintenance" to implement new features, including AI-driven initiatives for customer performance prediction and turnover growth.


What You'll Bring:

We need a proactive "owner" who sees a mess and feels an urge to fix it. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mastery of Java and Spring Boot
  • Experienced with Kafka
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible to manage a cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Experience managing or migrating complex microservice architectures (ideally 50+ services).
  • Exceptional communication and ownership skills. You aren't just a "task receiver"; you are someone who identifies problems and proposes solutions.
  • Experience in Retail, E-commerce, or CRM systems is highly advantageous.

Compensation & Work Arrangement:

  • Budget Range: €90,000 - 100,000 EUR (depending on experience).
  • Location: Offices in Munich
  • Hybrid Policy: * If living 80km from the office: 4 days per month on-site.
  • Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; German is a strong plus.
