Overview

We’re partnering with a rapidly growing trucking and logistics company currently operating ~1,000 trucks, with plans to expand by an additional 200 trucks over the next two years. This growth is driving the need for a strong accounting leader to help build, scale, and lead the finance function during an exciting phase of expansion.


This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership across accounting operations, asset management, and financial strategy within an asset-heavy, operational environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Build, lead, and develop the accounting and finance function in a high-growth environment
  • Oversee all core areas including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Manage fuel expense tracking and cost optimization, a critical driver in the business
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet assets (acquisition, depreciation, disposal), ensuring accuracy and value optimization
  • Drive process improvements and scalability, including development of digital SOPs and training materials
  • Lead and support IT and system integrations across accounting and operations
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with Legal, HR, and external advisors to ensure compliance across federal, state, and local regulations
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external accounting and financial partners
  • Support operational areas including insurance, claims management, and payroll-related matters
  • Provide financial guidance around asset-based operations, including equipment leasing, land acquisition, and development initiatives


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience across controllership functions in a growing or evolving environment
  • Background in trucking required
  • Experience with asset management and cost tracking (fuel, fleet, equipment)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
