Key Account Manager (m/w/d) – Germany

Location: Germany (Field-based)

Reporting to: Head of Sales / Commercial Director

Industry: Pharmaceutical / Biotech


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive strategic engagement across key healthcare accounts in Germany. This role focuses on building long-term partnerships with stakeholders across hospitals, specialist centres, and payer organisations to ensure optimal access and uptake of our portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans for key strategic customers (e.g. university hospitals, specialist centres, regional networks)
  • Build strong relationships with KOLs, physicians, pharmacists, and decision-makers
  • Drive product uptake and market share growth within assigned territory
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Marketing teams
  • Support launch excellence activities for new products in line with German market requirements
  • Navigate the German healthcare system, including reimbursement pathways and stakeholder mapping
  • Analyse territory performance and implement data-driven strategies
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with German regulatory and compliance standards


Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Deliver high-quality stakeholder engagement across priority accounts
  • Successful execution of product launch strategies
  • Contribution to regional and national account strategies


Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or Hospital Sales Specialist within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Strong understanding of the German healthcare system (GKV/PKV, AMNOG, hospital structures)
  • Experience working in specialty care (e.g. oncology, rare disease, immunology preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to travel across the assigned territory


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Business
  • Experience in product launches within Germany
  • Existing network within key German healthcare institutions
