CRM Consultant
Indexed description
We are a Zoho shop. Not a reseller ticking boxes, but a team that actually pushes the platform: widgets, custom functions, automation, cross-platform integrations, off-platform data layers. We need someone who can own the CRM layer across complex, multi-system engagements.
The Role
This is not a configuration role. You will not be dragging fields around and calling it a day.
Our CRM projects sit inside bigger digital transformations. A client might be moving to a new ERP, building a data warehouse, connecting their POS, and standing up a CRM all at once. You will work alongside developers and a project manager to design, build and deliver CRM solutions that actually fit how a business runs. That means understanding the business, not just the platform.
You will own the CRM workstream: discovery and requirements, solution design, build and customisation, automation, user acceptance, and handover. You will work closely with the dev team when integrations or custom development is involved, which it often is, and you will be the person who can speak both client and technical.
What You'll Work On
The variety is real. Our clients are mid-market businesses across a wide range of industries, and most engagements involve the CRM as one layer of a broader digital transformation. You might be building a CRM that sits on top of a custom data warehouse, integrating it with a cloud ERP and an analytics platform, or designing data structures complex enough that the out-of-the-box module layout does not cut it.
The common thread is complexity. These are not simple sales pipeline setups. You will be working with clients who have intricate data relationships, multiple integrated systems, and real business processes that the CRM needs to reflect accurately.
What We're Looking For
- Solid hands-on CRM experience on Zoho or another enterprise platform (Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics, etc.). You have built and customised it properly, not just administered it.
- Able to translate messy business requirements into a coherent CRM design: you ask the right questions before you build anything
- Someone who thinks in spiderwebs: you understand how a CRM connects to the rest of a business's data, systems and processes, even if you are not the one writing the warehouse code
- Comfortable working inside complex, multi-system environments where the CRM is one piece of a larger puzzle
- Strong communicator: you can run a workshop, write a spec, and have a direct conversation with a client when something needs to be said
- Works well in a small team: you take ownership, but you know when to loop people in
What We're Not Looking For
Someone who has configured the same mid-market sales CRM twenty times without being pushed. We would rather hire someone who has been stretched by hard problems and learned from them than someone with a clean record of unchallenging implementations.
Working at BDO Digital
Small team, real variety, no nonsense. You will work closely with experienced developers and a capable project manager, and you will have genuine ownership of the work. The problems are interesting, the clients are real businesses with real stakes, and the team does not do mediocre.
You must be based in New Zealand with the right to work permanently to apply.
