The Commercial Expert – Mexico provides senior-level commercial, contractual, and financial oversight for WIFA project activities in Mexico and cross-border project interfaces. The role ensures contracts, procurement strategies, and commercial activities are aligned with project objectives, ACCIONA standards, and applicable Mexican regulations.
This position supports feasibility, early works, procurement, and construction phases, working closely with project leadership, finance, legal, technical, and construction teams to manage commercial risk, contract compliance, and project value throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Contract Strategy: Support commercial strategies, contract structures, procurement models, and risk allocation for Mexico-based project scopes.
- Contract Negotiation & Administration: Lead or support contract negotiations, change orders, vendor agreements, and contract administration activities.
- Cost Control & Financial Oversight: Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, payment applications, and financial reporting for Mexico-based activities.
- Claims, Variations & Risk Management: Identify and manage commercial risks, claims, variations, and dispute resolution strategies.
- Cross-Border & Regulatory Coordination: Ensure compliance with Mexican commercial, labor, tax, and regulatory requirements while coordinating cross-border commercial interfaces.
- Governance & Reporting: Support commercial reporting, governance reviews, stakeholder presentations, and executive updates.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Law, or related field
- Proven experience in commercial or contract management for large infrastructure or industrial projects
- Experience managing construction and engineering contracts in Mexico
- Strong contract negotiation, financial, and risk management skills
- Ability to work across technical, legal, finance, and construction teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
