About The Job
The Records & Research Specialist supports the City’s active, continuing, and compliant records management program by managing public records throughout their lifecycle—creation, use, maintenance, retention, preservation, and lawful disposition. The Records & Research Specialist ensures City records are accessible, legally compliant, and properly preserved in accordance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and nationally recognized records management standards promoted by the Florida Records Management Association (FRMA).
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years’ experience in records management, public administration, or administrative support involving official recordkeeping, preferable in a Florida local government environment; or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Knowledge of records management principles, records retention requirements, and methods for recording and maintaining official meeting minutes.
- Knowledge of Florida Public Records Law (Chapter 119, F.S.), records retention laws (Chapter 257, F.S.), and Florida Administrative Code 1B-26.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, agenda management systems, and standard office equipment and technology.
- Florida Certified Records Manager (FCRM) designation must be obtained within three (3) years from hire.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Notary Public or the ability to acquire a Notary Public's certification required.
