Senior Business Data Analyst

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to support a portfolio of Business Intelligence and analytics initiatives for a client of ours based in Irving, TX. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and data engineering teams, translating complex business needs into actionable data-driven solutions.

You will lead requirements gathering, define and refine user stories, and ensure the delivery of high-quality reporting and analytics products. This role requires a balance of strong business acumen and technical expertise, particularly in data analysis, SQL, and BI tools, to drive meaningful insights and improvements across healthcare-focused datasets.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and data requirements for BI and reporting initiatives
• Develop and maintain Agile user stories, backlogs, and data flow documentation
• Partner with business leaders to define reporting, visualization, and analytics needs
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to support data acquisition, integration, and quality efforts
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to investigate data trends, validate outputs, and troubleshoot discrepancies
• Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure alignment between business expectations and technical deliverables
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and overall product performance

Key Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in Agile Scrum business or data analysis within technology teams
• Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, including joins and data validation techniques
• Demonstrated experience supporting data analytics, data warehousing, or big data projects
• Hands-on experience with BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools (Strategy platform experience is a plus)
• Experience documenting requirements, user stories, and workflows using tools such as Azure DevOps (preferred)
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and data validation processes
• Experience working with healthcare, pharmaceutical, or revenue cycle data environments
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate complex concepts clearly
