Who we are – and why this isn’t your typical job

We are AVEX – a B2B vehicle trading company – we trade approximately 10,000 vehicles a year with offices in Hamburg, Lisbon, and Barcelona. No showroom, no retail business.

And: we’re not a company just starting out with digitalization—we already work with AI-developed dashboards, have built our own internal tools, and think in terms of processes—not Excel spreadsheets. We enjoy this. And that’s exactly what we want to keep doing.

What we’re missing is someone who will join us—someone who thinks beyond the status quo, identifies and implements new AI use cases, and loves making technical progress just as much as we do.

For our office in Hamburg, we’re looking for you as

AI & Automation Engineer – B2B Automotive Trade (m/f/d)

What you’ll be doing with us

  • Further develop existing AI dashboards and build new use cases on the existing foundation
  • Independently analyze, improve, and automate internal processes
  • Implement new AI applications from concept to production—without long waiting periods
  • Design and build internal tools (from procurement to sales to operations)
  • Work closely with management and IT colleagues – direct communication, no hierarchy

What you bring to the table – real experience, not just resume bingo

Industry knowledge in vehicle sales or the automotive sector is irrelevant – what matters is whether you can implement ideas pragmatically.

Must-have

  • Proven AI/LLM experience: personal projects with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar – no courses
  • Basic frontend knowledge (Streamlit, React, Next.js) for simple internal UIs
  • Figma, Antigravity, Stitch, Supabase, Claude CoWork, and Openclaw are familiar to you.
  • Workflow automation with n8n, Make, Power Automate, or equivalent
  • Dashboarding and data visualization
  • Proactive approach: You identify issues, propose solutions, and don’t wait for tickets

Nice-to-have

  • Cloud fundamentals (AWS/Azure/GCP) for deployments
  • Personal side projects or open-source contributions on GitHub

What you get from us

  • €55,000–70,000 annual salary, depending on experience
  • A team that loves AI and is already using it—you won’t be the first one explaining what LLMs are
  • Full autonomy: your ideas are heard and implemented—not buried in backlogs
  • Direct collaboration with management—short decision-making paths, honest communication
  • Budget for the tools and software you really need
  • 100% Mac environment – no legacy IT frustration
  • Drinks, company pension plan, supplemental health insurance, meal vouchers

Here’s how the application process works

No Endless Process – We Promise

  • Short screening call (15–20 min)
  • Practical task: a real task from our day-to-day work, max. 3–4 hours
  • Technical interview (60 min) + final interview with management
  • Offer within 24 hours of the final interview

Apply: Resume + 1–2 sentences explaining why you’re interested—no cover letter needed.
