Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in European payments and open banking initiatives to support key regulatory and digital transformation programmes.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead detailed business and technical analysis across payments, fraud prevention, and open finance initiatives.
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear epics, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Work closely with technical, architecture, security, and operational teams to deliver compliant and scalable payment solutions.
- Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses on existing systems, controls, and operational processes.
- Define and document business, data, and control requirements with full traceability for governance and audit purposes.
- Support delivery teams throughout development and testing phases by clarifying requirements and validating delivered functionality.
- Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure successful programme delivery.
- Assist with the transition of solutions into business-as-usual operations, ensuring monitoring, controls, and documentation are fully established.
- Stay informed on developments within European payments regulations, fraud trends, PSD2, and open banking standards.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working as a Business Analyst within financial services or payments environments.
- Strong understanding of European payments regulations and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience working on PSD2 and Open Banking related initiatives.
- Experience working across payments processing, fraud prevention, authentication, or open finance programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse, and document complex business and technical requirements.
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, or audit-driven projects within financial services environments.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of SEPA, Instant Payments, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), or related payment frameworks.
- Experience working with APIs and digital banking integrations.
- Familiarity with fraud monitoring and risk management controls.
- Exposure to compliance-focused environments and governance frameworks.
- Previous experience working within large-scale transformation programmes.
- Understanding of customer journey mapping and process optimisation techniques.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Relevant Business Analysis or Agile certifications would be advantageous.
