Our client is seeking an Operations Director with a strong commercial, relationship management and senior operational experience to join their senior team. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping operational capability, embedding continuous improvement and supporting the future growth and resilience of the organisation. The Role:
Leadership & Organisational Capability
- Lead and develop high-performing operational teams across multiple disciplines.
- Create a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build organisational capability through coaching, succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Support cross-functional alignment between operational, commercial, compliance and strategic teams.
Operational Management & Service Delivery
- Lead all operational activities ensuring operational systems, processes and delivery channels perform efficiently.
- Develop and implement operational plans aligned to organisational objectives/targets.
- Drive operational performance through KPI management, reporting and performance monitoring frameworks.
- Oversee operational readiness, scalability and capacity planning to support future growth.
- Ensure operational continuity through effective risk management, contingency planning and issue resolution.
Logistics & Network Oversight
- Manage the performance of logistics operations, and third-party service providers.
- Ensure operational partners meet contractual obligations, service standards and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency, service quality and cost effectiveness.
- Work closely with stakeholders to improve performance and experience.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Manage operational budgets and ensure effective cost control across operational functions.
- Support financial planning and resource allocation to ensure long-term operational sustainability.
- Monitor operational expenditure, supplier performance and contract efficiencies.
- Contribute to strategic business planning, growth initiatives and operational investment decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Lead operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Use operational data, insights and analytics to inform decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, systems and operational processes.
- Drive innovation across operational practices to strengthen long-term effectiveness.
The Candidate:
- 3rd level degree
- Senior operational leadership experience within logistics, supply chain, retail operations, FMCG or similar sectors.
- Proven experience managing a large team and working with partners.
- Strong background in operational performance management, process optimisation and service delivery.
- Experience operating within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Demonstrated commercial and financial management capability.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
