2. About the Opportunity:
The Data Analys role is critical for integrating audience and revenue data to support strategic decision-making. This position is responsible for consolidating various data sources into actionable insights, forecasting growth, and helping different departments understand performance metrics. The role enables the organization to optimize operations, editorial content, and revenue strategies by providing clear and timely data analysis.
3. Responsibilities:
• Manage audience and revenue data from ingestion through reporting and storytelling.
• Define and maintain key performance metrics in collaboration with leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, membership, revenue, finance, and editorial teams to develop a cohesive data ecosystem.
• Build and maintain unified dashboards integrating data from podcast platforms, newsletters, web analytics, CRM, and subscription systems.
• Create customized dashboards for different stakeholders including executives, editorial, and revenue teams.
• Forecast audience growth by market and business line; validate forecasts against actual performance.
• Develop and maintain first-party data strategies across platforms.
• Provide regular insights and analysis to staff via reports, presentations, and informal coaching.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance dashboard development, reporting automation, and data pattern identification.
• Support targeted analyses for decisions on pricing, new market launches, format experiments, and advertising performance.
4. Requirements:
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or audience analytics, preferably in media.
• Understanding of newsroom dynamics, audience growth, and revenue models including advertising and subscriptions.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one BI or visualization tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with Python or R is advantageous.
• Skilled in applying AI tools to accelerate and enhance data workflows.
• Proven ability to build effective, user-friendly dashboards.
• Strong communication skills for presenting data insights to non-technical audiences.
• Self-directed and capable of establishing data structures independently.
• Commitment to supporting local journalism and community engagement.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Salary range is $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience.
