Duration: This can be a contract or FTE role
Client Location: Cambridge, ON (Hybrid: 2 days a week to office)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Business Process Analyst/Documentation Specialist to support our client's team.
Job Details:
The Business Process Analyst supports the Commercial Lines Underwriting team by documenting, analyzing, and optimizing business processes. The role focuses on current-state mapping, SOP development, and ensuring smooth execution of process changes and system transitions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Current-State Process Mapping
- Partner with Commercial Lines Underwriting stakeholders to understand and document existing workflows
- Facilitate workshops and walkthrough sessions to capture end-to-end underwriting processes, including variations
- Develop clear, detailed process maps reflecting current operations, system dependencies, and handoffs
2. Process Documentation & SOP Development
- Create and maintain standardized SOPs aligned to underwriting operations
- Translate workflows into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation
- Ensure documentation is version-controlled, approved, and compliant with internal standards
3. Department Process Change Support
- Support underwriting teams through process changes by updating documentation and process maps
- Assess impacts, risks, and downstream implications of proposed changes
- Incorporate feedback from front-line users to ensure accuracy and usability
4. System Conversion & Transition Support
- Document processes affected by system implementations, migrations, or enhancements
- Update SOPs and process maps to reflect system changes
- Collaborate with business and project teams to support training, transition planning, and adoption
5. Ongoing Process Maintenance & Governance
- Maintain and update process documentation as workflows evolve
- Ensure documentation remains accurate, accessible, and audit-ready
- Promote consistency and standardization across underwriting processes
Required Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in business/process analysis
- 2+ years of experience in Lean Operations or process improvement environments
- Strong understanding of business workflows, process mapping, and documentation
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews and process workshops
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience in Insurance (Commercial Lines preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow/Green Belt) or progress toward certification
- Exposure to system implementations, conversions, or transformation initiatives
