Job Title: Data Engineer II

Location: Miami, Florida, United States

Type: Full Time


Our Client is seeking a talented Data Engineer II to join their growing Data & Analytics team.

In this role, you will play a key part in building scalable data pipelines, integrating complex datasets, and enabling advanced analytics across both on‑prem and cloud environments. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving data challenges, driving automation, and contributing to meaningful insights that support enterprise‑wide decision‑making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end‑to‑end scalable data ingestion, integration, and analytics workflows across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain data pipelines and transformation processes used for enterprise reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Manage data integration, storage monitoring, and distribution to support data mining, predictive modeling, and insight generation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including IT, research, and operational stakeholders.
  • Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows using modern open‑source and proprietary tools.
  • Write efficient, complex SQL queries to process large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Monitor ETL/ELT performance and ensure adherence to security policies and data standards.
  • Prepare datasets for machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling.
  • Apply ML‑based automation patterns to discover insights and improve data reliability.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of combined clinical IT / research experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years in similar domains.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data engineering and data integration.
  • 1–3 years of experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • 3–5 years working with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server (schema design, querying, optimization).
  • 1–3 years of ETL/ELT development experience.
  • Experience using Python, SQL, SSIS, or Informatica for data transformations.
  • Experience with APIs and RESTful integrations.
  • Familiarity with data formats such as XML, JSON, HL7, or FHIR.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.


Skills & Competencies

  • Background working with enterprise systems such as EHR or ERP platforms.
  • Experience extracting and managing data from large clinical or operational systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL best practices, data modeling, and documentation.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and share knowledge with teammates.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Ability to drive improvements in data quality, efficiency, and reliability.
