We are actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator to join a growing commercial construction team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This position is ideal for a motivated construction professional looking to grow their career with a reputable General Contractor specializing in commercial, retail, mixed-use, and interior build-out projects.
The Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to help oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring schedules, budgets, and documentation remain on track. Typical responsibilities for APM and Project Coordinator roles include supporting scheduling, RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers with daily project operations
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Track project schedules, budgets, and procurement activities
- Support project closeout procedures and punch lists
- Maintain communication with clients, architects, engineers, and field teams
- Assist with permitting, inspections, and compliance requirements
- Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software
- Visit project sites to monitor progress and assist field operations
Qualifications:
- 1-4+ years of experience in commercial construction
- Experience with a General Contractor preferred
- Commercial, retail, healthcare, multifamily, or office project experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar software is a plus
