Lead Grounds Maintenance Worker

### **Position Summary**

Responsible for ensuring all grounds maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with contract standards and requirements, while assisting in overseeing daily operations and team performance.

### **What Youll Do**

#### **Grounds Maintenance Leadership**

• Ensure all grounds are well-maintained, manicured, and professional in appearance
• Lead daily operations in the absence of the Grounds Supervisor
• Communicate team concerns, needs, and updates to leadership

#### **Hands-On Responsibilities**

• Mow, edge, and trim all improved grounds
• Maintain sidewalks, curbs, and hard surfaces
• Perform weed control and debris removal
• Maintain desert landscaping and vacant lots
• Irrigate grass, shrubs, and plants
• Apply fertilizers and restore damaged lawn areas (seeding/sod)
• Prune and trim shrubs and plants

#### **Additional Duties**

• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance
• Support special projects as assigned
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

### **What You Bring**

#### **Qualifications**

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance and irrigation systems

#### **Licenses and Requirements**

• Valid Drivers License (required)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• Ability to operate a vehicle for company business

### **Background Requirements**

• General Background Check
• Office of Inspector General (OIG) / CMMS Exclusions Check
• Driving Record (MVR)
• Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Security Screening

### **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Ability to work in outdoor and sometimes stressful conditions
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance
