HR Coordinator & Office Manager
Indexed description
Yeah, that doesn't happen by accident.
We're looking for someone who can create that feeling on purpose. Someone who takes pride in the details, remembers names, notices when something's off, and fixes it before anyone else even realises.
About First Focus
We're First Focus, Australia's leading mid-market Managed Service Provider, and yes, we've been named #1 by Cloudtango nine years running.
We've grown to 360+ people across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines, without turning into a corporate maze of approvals and buzzwords. People here are trusted, supported, and given room to actually do their job.
We care a lot about our values (check them out here -https://www.firstfocus.com.au/about-us/), especially "Wow the Customer". In this role, your "customers" just happen to be your teammates. No pressure, just 40+ Melburnians expecting a great office experience every day.
Why this role is different
This isn't your standard HR admin role hiding behind spreadsheets.
This is:
- Part culture builder
- Part office ringmaster
- Part HR problem-solver
- And occasionally part "who organised this catering and why is it actually good?"
Requirements
What you'll be doing
- Keeping engagement high, not forced fun, actual, real engagement
- Running the Melbourne office day-to-day, facilities, vendors, and all the bits people only notice when they break
- Being the local go-to for people managers across ANZ
- Creating onboarding experiences that don't feel like paperwork marathons
- Supporting onboarding, performance, employee relations, compliance, and training initiatives across the business, with opportunities to get involved in benefits and broader people programs as the role grows
- Assisting with employee relations, compliance, and performance support
- Managing systems including our LMS, employee engagement platform, and performance management tools
- Jumping into projects across training, benefits, and internal communication
- Experience in office or branch management, ideally in professional services
- Solid HR generalist exposure, you've seen enough to not panic when things get messy
- High emotional intelligence, you read the room before the room knows it needs reading
- Strong admin skills and attention to detail
- Clear, confident communication, from grads to execs
- A warm personality and a sense of humour, because Melbourne runs on both coffee and sarcasm
- Alignment with our values, seriously, check them out here before applying: https://www.firstfocus.com.au/about-us/
- Bonus: AI literacy, or at least curiosity about it
- Competitive salary package including up to $90,000 (0.8 FTE/4 days) + other benefits
- Free access to Uprise, 1:1 coaching with qualified psychologists or counsellors
- Flexible working for work-life balance
- "Never Stop Growing": 10 paid study days per year (pro-rata), exam fees paid, pay rises for certifications (conditions apply)
- Weekly internal training and a full learning library
- FastTrack mentoring program
- MAD (Making a Difference) Council for equality, charity, and environment
- Tesla company car option (conditions apply)
- Regular social events and a genuinely great team culture
- Notices when the milk's out before anyone complains
- Fixes problems before they become Slack messages
- And quietly makes everything run better without needing a spotlight
And Melbourne will probably love you back.
