The Role:
IMR is seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant for Maternity Cover on an 18-month contract basis, based in our Rathcoole office. Reporting to the Finance Manager at IMR, the Senior Accounts Assistant will support all aspects of the busy finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end activities such as journal preparation, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support preparation of the monthly management reporting pack.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance.
- Maintain accounting controls with full backup available for all work for reporting to management and Auditors.
- Manage all finance and reporting tasks for designated projects.
- Maintain appropriate digital and physical records associated with the grants awarded in line with national and European regulations.
- Prepare and submit detailed claim files to granting authorities, monthly expenditure analysis, and monitor project spend against project budget.
- Support financial forecasting for designated projects.
- Liaise with the project teams as their primary point of contact for finance-related queries.
- Assist with internal and external audits of the grants awarded.
- Assist with administrative tasks for the wider organisation.
- Perform analysis of financial data.
- Provide cover for other team members during leave or busy periods.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Part-qualified accountant.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant role, or relevant role.
- Experience in project grant claims a distinct advantage.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in month-end, audit support and public procurement.
- Proficiency with Excel and finance systems (e.g., Sage or similar).
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Professional, discreet, and able to manage confidential information.
- Full access to a vehicle for visits to our Mullingar site from time to time is essential.
Location:
Candidates will be required to be resident in Ireland. IMR offices are situated in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin and Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. The role will be based in our Rathcoole, Co. Dublin office. We offer a hybrid working model with onsite presence in the office required at least one day per week. Travel between offices will be required from time to time.
Salary & Benefits:
This position will command a package consisting of basic salary (€46,805 - €56,394 depending on qualifications and experience), employer pension contribution and 5 weeks holidays.
