Overview:
As the Rehabilitation Coach for the First Team at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will be responsible for guiding injured players through every phase of their recovery and reintegration into elite-level football. Working at the intersection of medicine, performance, and coaching, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure our players return not only fully fit—but stronger, smarter, and more confident than ever.
Key Responsibilities:
Rehabilitation & Recovery
- Develop and deliver bespoke return-to-play programs in coordination with the medical and physiotherapy teams.
- Track and manage player progress through measurable physical milestones.
- Lead on-field RTP sessions and tailor functional movement routines for each stage of recovery.
- Support players holistically through the rehab journey—from injury diagnosis to full match readiness.
Injury Prevention
- Design individualized and team-wide prevention protocols to mitigate re-injury risks.
- Incorporate preventative measures into broader training cycles with the strength and conditioning staff.
- Conduct physical screenings to identify risk factors and optimize biomechanics.
- Integrate movement efficiency, load monitoring, and mobility strategies throughout the RTP process.
Treatment Support
- Assist physiotherapists with manual therapy, recovery techniques, and guided mobility exercises.
- Ensure high-quality treatment delivery during rehab, both on and off the pitch.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a key conduit between medical, coaching, and performance departments to align recovery goals.
- Maintain detailed records of each player's recovery profile and update relevant staff on progress and readiness.
Professional Development & Other
- Stay up to date with current methods, research, and technology in rehab and return-to-play science.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Lead Physiotherapist or Technical Director.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a sport science, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation-related field.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate certification in Return to Play, Sports Injury Rehab, or Strength & Conditioning.
- Additional certifications in Biomechanics, Osteopathy, or Manual Therapy.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience in a medical/performance role in elite sport, ideally football.
- Practical expertise with RTP protocols and functional testing methodologies.
- Deep understanding of injury mechanisms, biomechanics, and movement optimization.
- Ability to build tailored recovery programs with the use of performance technology (GPS, force plates, EMG, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a high-pressure, multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluent in English.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
- Additional language skills (Arabic, Spanish).
