What You Will Work On
Your mission
Build the living digital representation of a manufacturer's entire product lifecycle: a system that is always current, always connected, fully programmable by humans and agents alike, and designed to serve as the authoritative source of truth not just for internal teams but for the EU's entire Digital Product Passport infrastructure.
We don’t think about our backend as a system that serves a frontend. We think of it as a structured, event-driven, compliance-grade model of a product's reality that any consumer (UI, API, agent, ERP, BIM tool, regulator) can interact with.
As a Senior Engineer on this team, you own the full product loop. You don't implement specs handed to you; you're in discovery conversations, forming hypotheses, shipping, and measuring. High autonomy, high accountability.
In the first 6 months, you will
- Own the foundation that powers how manufacturers capture, connect, and act on their production lifecycle. This is long-term infrastructure work with real product consequences, and you're the one making the architectural bets.
- Design and ship the integration layer for ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics), PIM systems, and supplier databases
- Define the API surface that has to serve a frontend, an AI agent, and a third-party platform at the same time. Lead cross-functional work with designers, LCA experts, and customer success to translate messy real-world manufacturing workflows into something clean and usable.
- Improve how we build: invest in tooling, processes, and abstractions that multiply the team's output
- Take full ownership over complex, ambiguous projects: define requirements, navigate trade-offs, and drive delivery
- Identify problems others don't see, and turn them into actionable proposals
- Languages: Python, TypeScript
- Backend: FastAPI, gRPC
- Frontend: React

- Direct experience integrating ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) in a production context
- Domain knowledge or professional exposure to adjacent sectors, such as Climate/Sustainability, Construction Tech, or Manufacturing.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., OpenTofu), container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and defining automated deployment pipelines.
