Property Accountant

Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting activities for assigned residential, apartment, or senior living properties, including maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling account activity.
• Monitor cash transactions and account balances with the accuracy and discipline needed to keep property books current and balanced.
• Deliver responsive support to residents, vendors, and internal partners by addressing financial questions professionally and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Apply standard operating procedures and company policies consistently to ensure accounting tasks are completed correctly and in compliance with established guidelines.
• Oversee the financial administration of large-scale property assets, supporting budgeting, reporting, and ongoing operational accountability.
• Coordinate work based on deadlines and scheduled activities, using a calendar-driven approach to stay ahead of recurring accounting and property-related obligations.
• Review and prioritize incoming work orders or requests by assessing urgency, operational impact, and timing requirements.
• Assist with maintenance or project-related financial tracking when needed, helping connect property operations with accurate accounting support.
• Experience in property accounting with a working knowledge of general ledger activity and property management accounting practices.
• Background supporting residential, apartment, or senior living portfolios is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with tax credit properties is preferred; certification can be supported over time for the right candidate.
• Experience using Rent Manager for property or accounting-related tasks.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across a range of stakeholders.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow established procedures and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to evaluate and prioritize requests or work orders using sound judgment and operational awareness.
