The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting the development of our wave energy converter. We utilize a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach, and this role is critical to ensure the quality of our complex products, both individual wave energy converters (WEC) and full-scale WEC farms. In this transversal role, you will work closely with other Systems Engineers, Product Owners, and Module Owners on requirement management, verification and validation (V&V), risk and interface management, design modification support, and on the path to commercial certification.
Responsibilities
- Verification & Validation: Design and oversee rigorous testing protocols to validate system requirements, ensuring that individual WECs and full-scale arrays perform as predicted by our models and satisfy all stakeholder needs.
- Interface Control: Lead the definition and management of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure seamless technical integration between mechanical, electrical, and software sub-systems.
- Requirements Management: Maintain the integrity and quality of our requirements throughout the lifecycle, ensuring full traceability and relevance within our requirement management system.
- Certification & Compliance: Contribute to the product certification process, for example grid compliance and third-party verification, ensuring our technology meets all regulatory and industry standards.
- Contribute to the development of our digital twin model, especially ensuring that the test protocol results are transferred into our numerical tools.
- BSc or MSc in relevant disciplines such as Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Proven experience as a System Engineer, ideally within complex hardware and software integration projects, and in the industry.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in requirement management tools is favorable, for example DOORS, Jira, or ReqSuite.
- Experience with and interest in complex machines is qualifying.
