Vice President, Consumer Private Equity

A Chicago-based private investment platform is seeking a Vice President of Investments to join its Consumer team. The role focuses on sourcing, executing, and managing equity investments across consumer-facing sectors, including branded consumer products, retail, e-commerce, and food & beverage.

The VP will take a lead role across the full investment lifecycle and work closely with senior team members on both new transactions and portfolio value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate new consumer investment opportunities
• Lead financial modeling, valuation, and investment committee materials
• Drive execution across due diligence, structuring, and negotiations
• Partner with portfolio companies on growth and operational initiatives
• Monitor portfolio performance and support exit strategy development
• Build and maintain relationships with founders, advisors, and intermediaries

Candidate Profile

• 5-8+ years in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or investing roles
• Strong financial modeling and transaction execution experience
• Prior exposure to consumer/retail/consumer brands preferred
• Comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on investing environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with management teams
