About The Role
In this role, you’ll jump right into the heart of the design process—supporting everything from early concepts and eye-catching presentations to detailed construction documents and coordination during construction. You’ll build strong BIM and communication skills, gain hands-on exposure to code research, submittals, and shop drawings, and learn how great design comes together in the real world. Along the way, you’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at business development and client relationships, making this a well-rounded opportunity to grow your technical skills and your career.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective and efficient Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills, verbal and written communication skills, organization and management skills.
- The ability to prioritize and plan work, and work well under established project schedules, adapting to frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Assist in researching code compliance.
- Assist in developing architectural presentation graphics, renderings and animations.
- Assist in development of conceptual, schematic and design development packages.
- Develops, modifies, and reviews construction documents.
- Assist, coordinate and advise throughout the construction phase of the project.
- Assist in performing shop drawing and submittal reviews.
- Learn the process of new business development; markets Galloway’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
Qualifications
- Possesses general knowledge of building systems and design, the construction process, and value design.
- Possesses general knowledge of permitting and certification processes, and codes and standards in building design.
- Possesses general knowledge of project budgets and scheduling.
- Understands the basic tenants of various engineering systems associated with project design.
- Experience in various agencies and disciplines involved in the construction process; integrate and coordinate all parties for completion of construction projects.
- Proficient in Revit and ACC Management, Enscape (or equivalent rendering software), SketchUp, AutoCAD (Optional), Bluebeam, Microsoft Products, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills verbally and written.
- Associate’s degree in architecture, Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in an architectural firm, or a multi-disciplinary firm.
- Experience in general commercial and industrial Architecture.
