Description
From the IT Department at Atlantica, we are looking for a Power BI Specialist to join and strengthen our team based in Seville's office.
The selected person will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics solutions using Power BI, transforming complex data into actionable insights that support decision-making across different business areas at Atlantica.
This role requires solid technical expertise in business intelligence and data visualization, combined with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, reliable, and user-friendly reporting solutions.
Responsibilities
Internal Client and Project Management
- Act as a point of contact between IT and business areas for data analytics and reporting initiatives.
- Translate complex business requirements into effective Power BI solutions.
- Provide training and support to end users on Power BI tools and best practices.
- Connect to and integrate various data sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud services) and transform data for analysis.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and build scalable, efficient data models using DAX and Power Query.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across dashboards and reports.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Service.
- Design engaging and informative data visualizations that communicate complex information effectively.
- Apply best practices for data governance, security, and performance optimization.
- Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, trends, and Microsoft ecosystem updates.
- Minimum 2–3 years in roles related to business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering, with hands-on experience in Power BI.
- Proven experience developing and deploying dashboards and reports in production environments.
- Knowledge of business processes in relevant sectors (energy, infrastructure, finance, operations) is a plus.
- Power BI: Solid hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service; dashboard and report development, publishing, and administration.
- Data Modeling & DAX: Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, DAX formulas, and calculated measures/columns.
- Data Transformation: Proficiency in Power Query (M language) for data cleansing, shaping, and transformation.
- Data Sources & SQL: Experience connecting to relational databases and writing SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Data Visualization: Excellent visualization skills with a keen eye for design, usability, and storytelling with data.
- Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles, role-level security (RLS), and performance best practices.
- Other BI Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.
- Cloud Data Services: Exposure to Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL).
- Automation & Integration: Knowledge of Power Automate or experience integrating Power BI with other Microsoft 365 services.
- Business Platforms: Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems for data extraction and reporting.
Desirable Certifications
- Power BI: Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
- Data & Analytics: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure fundamentals or data-related Azure certifications.
- Spanish: High
