Cable Technician III - Artificial Lift

Job Duties

Under general supervision, the sucessful candidate will:

• Receives, tests, prepares and repairs downhole cable for submersible pumps and motor equipment for use in the field.
• Receives cable from field or manufacturer and carries out tests to ensure proper function in the field. Performs grounding tests, locates bad spots and makes repairs.
• Will splice additional cable if required on a motor lead and add to surface cable.
• Conducts weekly inventories on all cable in the yard and complete necessary paperwork.
• Trains and coaches new hires in basic principles. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
• Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Basic computer skills are preferred. Requires completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of three years of experience.
