Key Responsibilities
As an Account Executive, your responsibilities will include:
- Account and Territory Management:
- Manage and grow the volume, revenue, and margin within the assigned customer base or sales territory to achieve sales targets.
- Regularly engage with customers through in-person visits, phone calls, and emails to discuss business opportunities, address concerns, and take corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date customer profiles in the CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Proactively identify customer needs and provide exceptional service to exceed expectations, driving long-term relationships.
- Develop and implement a structured sales plan, ensuring it aligns with both customer needs and company objectives.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer requirements.
- New Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and the broader sales territory.
- Cultivate new client relationships and continuously identify new selling opportunities, offering innovative solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Monitor and analyze customer and market trends, providing insights to help shape sales strategies.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
- Collaborate with management to provide accurate sales forecasts, identifying both current and future opportunities within the assigned customer base.
- Contribute to development of the company’s annual budget by providing key insights on sales growth, margin optimization, and market trends.
- Regularly report on progress and performance against sales goals.
- Conflict Resolution & Problem Solving:
- Effectively manage customer concerns or issues, driving prompt resolution and implementing action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in sales within the logistics or transportation industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect and generate new business with a driven, proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering quality results.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Must be willing and able to travel as needed for client visits and business development.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams to meet customer needs.
- Full time schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities.
- Occasional travel and external client meetings are required.
- Regular physical demands: Walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; use fingers for keyboarding; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, emails and instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively to both internal and external contacts.
Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
Commissions: This position is eligible for commissions based on performance, with earning potential tied to individual and/or company sales goals.
