Senior Payment Product Manager - LATAM
Indexed description
About the Role
We are looking for a senior Product Manager to rebuild and scale our payment product in LATAM.
This role goes beyond feature delivery — you will be responsible for defining product architecture, improving merchant and user experience, and driving real business growth in a complex payment ecosystem.
You will play a key role in solving current gaps in product strategy, execution quality, and market fit.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the localization and growth of Big Pay products in LATAM, ensuring the product experience aligns with local user behavior, payment habits, and market dynamics.
- Define and continuously refine the end-to-end product architecture for payment flows, including user journey, merchant lifecycle, transaction routing, and fund movement, ensuring scalability and system consistency.
- Identify user pain points and merchant integration challenges through direct engagement with local users, merchants, and regional teams, and translate insights into structured and high-impact product improvements.
- Redesign and optimize merchant onboarding and integration experience, improving API usability, documentation clarity, and integration success rate to accelerate merchant acquisition and activation.
- Improve user onboarding and payment experience, reducing entry barriers across KYC, deposit, and transaction flows, and building a product that aligns with user trust and mental models in LATAM markets.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to ensure product strategy is grounded in real market dynamics, not just internal assumptions or short-term KPIs.
- Design and iterate product solutions including user flows, wireframes, and product requirements, with clear user stories and strong attention to detail in execution quality.
- Work across the full product development lifecycle, ensuring high standards in UI/UX, development coordination, test case validation, production launch, and post-launch optimization.
- Analyze product performance using data-driven approaches, build and maintain performance dashboards, and drive improvements in key metrics such as conversion rate, transaction success rate, merchant activation, and user retention — while balancing data with real user insights.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, compliance, and business teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and compliant payment products, ensuring smooth operational processes across markets.
- Ensure product design incorporates risk management, compliance requirements, and operational efficiency, particularly in areas such as payment flows, settlement, and regulatory constraints.
- Understand and optimize key payment processes including transaction lifecycle, reconciliation, settlement, PSP integrations, and merchant flows, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Act as a bridge between LATAM markets and global product teams, ensuring local insights, user needs, and business priorities are effectively translated into product roadmap decisions.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience, with strong background in payments, fintech, or transaction platforms.
- Solid understanding of payment systems, including:
- Payment flows (on/off-ramp, routing, authorization)
- Reconciliation and settlement
- Merchant integration (API-based)
- PSP / acquirer ecosystem
- Experience designing or owning end-to-end payment or card products (not just growth or front-end features).
- Strong product architecture thinking — able to structure complex systems, not just deliver features.
- Proven ability to improve merchant experience or user conversion in payment products.
- Strong data sense, but not KPI-driven only — able to combine data with real user insight.
- Ability to work closely with engineering and understand technical constraints (API, system design, integration).
- Ability to balance business growth with product quality and user experience
- Fluency in English is required to be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders. Additional languages like fluent Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of LATAM markets and user experience.
- Strong ownership mindset — someone who fixes problems, not just executes tasks
