This role is responsible for managing full-cycle accounting activities across a portfolio of senior living communities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong fiscal control. You will play a key role in month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and ongoing performance analysis to support operational and leadership decision-making. The position requires close collaboration with community teams and corporate stakeholders to ensure transparency and consistency in financial data. You will also contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, helping to maintain financial stability and accountability across properties. Working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end property accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial oversight across assigned communities.

    • Manage full-cycle month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and reconciliations
    • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance reports to support leadership decision-making
    • Review resident billing, rent rolls, census data, and revenue recognition for accuracy and consistency
    • Monitor accounts payable activity, ensuring proper coding and alignment with approved budgets
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for assigned properties
    • Assist with audit preparation, lender reporting, and ownership financial reporting requirements
    • Partner with operational and community leadership teams to provide timely financial insights and analysis
    • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies

    Requirements:

    This role requires strong property accounting experience, advanced financial reporting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
      • 3–5+ years of property accounting experience, with senior living industry experience preferred
      • Strong understanding of GAAP and hands-on experience with monthly close processes
      • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate complex financial data
      • Experience with property management or accounting systems such as Yardi, PCC, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
      • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
      • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a partnership-oriented mindset
      • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and problem-solving ability
